When I look around the league, I sometimes wonder if these are the "best" available players I see on the field. MLB owners have been accused of collusion when it comes to keeping a player that they don't like off of the field. That explains a lot of what I see...

there is no vet leadership on that team. When the mets had julio franco there was someone who kept the young guys in line and showed them how to play the game. that dude reyes needs a reality check right now he acts like he's bigger then the team and that's not cool.

I've been hearing some dissension in the ranks of my fellow Mets' fans. Before we get all nervous about this season and jump all over Willie Randolph, we must take a step back and breathe. We are 5.5 games out of first place with over 100 games to play. Fans were nervous last year because we got off to a fast start and didn't think we could hold on and that proved to be true. So you can't complain now if we are running in the middle of the pack early on in the season. I believe it's not going to get any worse. Once all the talk about Randolph dies down, the team will focus and make their move. We can't rely on the David Wright and Jose Reyes to bring this team around, they're just too young. Guys like Beltran, Church, Castillo, and Delgado need to bring some calm to the rough seas at Shea., and I don't mean with their bats. They need to come out and support their manager and start operating as a unit, so we can win some ball games.
